OUR FATHER (LIGUORI) – Lyrics

Play the audio and follow the lyrics along; they go together.
This is the “OUR FATHER” of the Common of the Mass called “Mass of St. Alphonsus Liguori”. The Mass was composed by Fr Michael Mua in 2002. On 27 November 2011, the First Sunday of Advent, the New English Translation of the Third Typical Edition of the Roman Missal came into effect in the Catholic English-speaking world. What this meant is that the text of some of the musical settings such as this “Mass” belonged to the old Missal. Therefore, Saint Thomas Aquinas’ Major seminary (STAMS) Bambui – Cameroon set to work to revise texts and music of chants of Mass within their competence, in most cases together with the original composers.
Accordingly, the “Mass of S.t Alphonsus Liguori” was adapted to the new translation of the Third Typical Edition of the Roman Missal in 2013 by the Singing Department of STAMS Bambui together with the composer. This audio of the “Our Father” is of the new version of the Missal.
